Ultra-Thin
Plate Beamsplitters

Beamsplitters do exactly what their name implies, split a beam at a designated ratio in two directions. Additionally beamsplitters can be used in reverse to combine two different beams into a single one.

Beamsplitters are often classified according to their construction: cube or plate. A plate beamsplitter is a common type of beamsplitter that is composed of a thin glass substrate with an optical coating optimized for a 45° angle of incident (AOI).

Paralight Optics offers ultra thin plate beamsplitters with Partially reflective coating on the front surface and AR coating on the back surface, they are optimized to minimize beam displacement and to eliminate Ghost Images.

Reference Drawing for

Ultra-Thin Beamsplitter

Note: An ultra-thin plate beamsplitter has a very thin thickness, this feature make it minimize any beam displacement or chromatic dispersion within any optical system. Even though the glass of N-BK7 is extremely thin, it is still able to maintain its reflection and transmission capabilities, similar to conventional plate beamsplitters.
